NOTD: China Glaze Atlantis

Today, I decided to pull out China Glaze Atlantis. It is a teal jelly base with scattered holographic micro glitter. I used 3 coats for opacity here. It. Is. So. Pretty. I just can't stop staring at my nails! I believe you can still buy this polish at & some Sally's still have it. I've heard this is compared to Color Club Holiday Splendor, so I sense a comparison post coming soon!

Here I've intentionally blurred it to show the holo! FYI, this is my first post from my phone (photos and all are from my phone), so I apologize if it looks funky. I'll check it out on my laptop after I post it!

Thanks for reading!

This is going to be a 4 part series. One character from the box a day! Today, I'm going to start with Ursula!

NOTD: OPI Alcatraz...Rocks

OPI Alcatraz...Rocks, well, rocks! This is one of the newer liquid sands from the San Francisco collection. Liquid Sands are probably my least favorite texture polishes, so I generally topcoat them. Read more after the jump to see what I decided to do with this one!

I'm so proud to announce that after a year of hard work, a big project I've been working on is nearing the end!

I have been developing an iOS app for beauty product inventory that is made with us collectors in mind from the ground up! A full list of features is on the StashDrive Mobile App Facebook page with more info to come. I will be launching a Kickstarter campaign in the next few days and need as much support as I can get to get StashDrive to the app store. I have to fund the second half of the development as I have completely depleted my personal funds.

I will update the Facebook Page, blog and Instagram (@stashdriveapp) so keep an eye out!

If you want to see StashDrive become a reality for you and me, please share anywhere and everywhere. I really appreciate it. :)

Hi readers! As you may or may not know, Google Reader will be on its way out in a couple weeks. There's still time to transfer the blogs you read over to Bloglovin', and I couldn't recommend it enough. Here's how:

1. Set up a Bloglovin' account: If you don't have a Bloglovin' account, you can get one here. During the process it will ask if you want to import the blogs you read on Google Reader to Bloglovin'. Click on the button to import and that's it!

If you already have a Bloglovin' account, then here's what to do:

1. Log in to Bloglovin' and click on your profile picture.

2. On your profile page, click Edit your profile. This will take you to your account settings, notifications, etc.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Import blogs. Doing this will take you to a page that gives you 2 options. Click on Google Reader and follow the prompts.

4. The import literally takes a few seconds to work. Once the import is complete, it will take you back to your Bloglovin' homepage where you can view all the recent posts from your favorite bloggers.

It's possible with the close of Google Reader that Google Friend Connect may follow. To avoid any complications in the future, I've been following blogs directly on Bloglovin' by clicking on the follow link when I'm reading new posts. The follow link usually looks like a + or a heart.

Let me know if you need any help and I hope to see you all on Bloglovin'!

Kassi of Lacquer Junkie is a great friend of mine who is starting her own indie polish shop! Her polishes are so unique and application is a breeze. You can purchase any of the polishes listed below in her Etsy shop. Click any image to enlarge!

Toxic Wasted is a micro green hex glitter topper with balls to the walls large white hexes, medium black hexes, white rectangles & black and white bars. Words cannot describe my love for this polish, especially over Essie Butler Please. I think they're the perfect match.

JENsations Customs Spam!

Emma had the lovely Jen of JENsations create some custom polishes for my birthday gift and both of them hit it out of the park! I was really touched by the thought Emma and Jen put into these polishes, they are just perfect. Three were made to match our pets and one will be revealed the beginning of April. Those of you who know me well will probably be able to figure out why that date has meaning to me and all of St. Louis! There's actually a blurry sneak peek in the background of the bottle shots here.

First off, we have "Fatty." This polish represents our baby, Audrey, who has the nickname of Fatty due to her, ahem, generous proportions. She's the best cat ever and if you think yours is, you are wrong! ;) Fatty is a beautiful dilute calico with a big bright white belly.

Fatty has big white hexes for her big white belly, small black and brown hexes for her fur colors and small pink hexes for her adorable pink nose! This was worn over CG Pelican Gray to pick up more of her beautiful coloring. (Sorry for the horrible phone pic)

Next, we have "Tickle Tickle." This represents my Indian Ringneck, Eephus. One of his favorite things to say is, "Tickle Tickle!" We say that to him when we scritch his neck and he took off and ran with it!

Tickle Tickle is in a soft blue shimmer base with orange hexes (his beak), large turquoise hexes (his tail feathers) and turquoise bars (for a feathery effect). Also included are silver holo squares, which really sets it off! This is over CG Seaspray.
The last custom I'm going to show you today is "Perkachur!" Our Lutino cockatiel is named Pikachu, but in the wake of the Gersberms meme, we have taken to calling her Perkachur.

Perkachur! starts out with a light yellow shimmer base and it's heavily sprinkled with small orange and yellow hexes. Then her cute beady eyes are the big black circles. I have it layered over CG Lemon Fizz and the shimmer & yellow glitters in Perkachur! give it so much dimension!

Thanks to Emma and Jen for the awesome birthday polishes! My pets mean so much to me and to see them on my nails was so much fun. <3

Just one more photo while I'm here, and it's going to look similar to something Emma did a while back. We are both huge fans of JENsation's Melon-Coly and after putting on Cult Nails Deal With It, which is a gorgeous lime green with gold shimmer. This mani was just begging for a Melon-Coly accent nail!

If you haven't noticed, my cuticles are looking SO much better and my nails have grown quite a lot, even since the pics of the customs I took a couple weeks ago. I give the Trind System all the credit. I can't say enough good things about their products, they have made such a difference. Highly recommend! I buy mine from (link goes directly to the exact kit I use) and they often have 20% discount codes. Right now it's HEARTS20, but I think the code FAB20 works all the time. It's pricey, but totally worth it!

JENsations can be bought on her Etsy store here. She has a lot of interesting glitter combos that are really different. Plus her star bottles are crazy cute and store so well. Her service is amazing and she's an absolute sweetheart. We are huge JENsations fangirls!

I was very pleased with the application of Cult Nails Deal With It, and it can be purchased here.

Chalkboard Nails by Sonoma Nail Art

We all know Chalkboard Nails. Everyone does! She's a great inspiration to all of us polish goers and she is very near and dear to my heart. To show my appreciation, I've concocted this CBN inspired manicure.

Here is Chalkboard Nails, a polish inspired by Sarah. It was created by Sonoma Nail Art, and it is a beauty! It is a deep greyed black with white flecks & pieces to represent chalk dust on a chalkboard. So cute! I've paired it with one of Sarah's favorite polishes, OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons. I've matted CBN to give it a real chalkboard effect! Visit the Sonoma etsy site for purchasing.

Some Random Swatching

Pelican Gray was listed as a "last chance" at Sally's (among others in this post) so I decided to grab it. It's a really soft grey with a slight shimmer, super pretty!
2 coats China Glaze Pelican Gray

Next is a glow polish. I LOVE GLOW POLISHES. Here is KB Shimmer Radioactive. It is a very bright lime green base with black squares, hexes, and bars. Love!

3 coats KB Shimmer Radioactive

Another awesome KB Shimmer is Let's Get Star-ted. It reminds me of Oh Splat in the sense of the milky white base. It as black stars and hexes. And also purple and blue hexes. It is so cute!

My mom recently placed an AEngland order, and we got some beauties! Here is Tristam. It is a navy blue holo, and my favorite of our order!

Saint George is so so gorgeous. It is a teal holo, and it is super opaque. I did two coats, but you could definitely get away with one!

Another "last chance" Sally's purchase was China Glaze Tree Hugger. I had noticed this polish before, but it never really did anything for me. But when I picked it up, I noticed some shimmer that I hadn't seen in the past!
2 coats China Glaze Tree Hugger

Below Deck is a perfect mauve shade. It leans purple, and I had never really seen anything like it. Great color for neutral work polish!

2 coats China Glaze Below Deck

Another grey China Glaze! Sea Spray is a basically Pelican Grey tinted blue. Same shimmer, an everything!
2 coats China Glaze Sea Spray

China Glaze makes great greens! Gaga for Green is one of my favorites and now Starboard is as well! It is a kelly green cream, and application is perfect! And as a bonus is doesn't make me have lobster hands.
